Young man, good clear English, spoke quickly about loft insulation and how my home still had the old stuff and would I like a survey to see if I was eligible for new insulation. His introduction lasted about 1 minute and I listened quietly. I hesitated before answering his first question as to whether I still had old insulation - I didn't just say 'yes' or 'no'. He then repeated an odd phrase that he'd said before, in exactly the same way. This was odd and I hesitated some more. He repeated the same phrase again, like a malfunctioning robot! I realised I wasn't talking to a person but a recording designed to make me think I was interacting with a real person. I put the phone down. I was connected for 2 to 3 minutes. Assume this kind of call is used to establish whether I'm a good target for future scam calls?
