I have just received an automated voicemail to say that my visa has been charged a large amount of money. I blocked the number immediately, as I feel it's a scam.

A recorded message advising of expensive railway tickets purchased and if fraudulent to "press button 1 to go through our Visa refund department." I pressed button 1 and the line went dead. I guess all operatives were busy trying to effect a Visa refund and scam people. Best avoid this number.

I was called to say this was a reminder that I had an appointment and would incur a charge if I did not attend. It was a recorded message from an unknown caller to an unnamed recipient and when I returned the call it did not connect. This must be a scam surely but in what way?
